The country’s jewellers on Wednesday increased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,216 a bhari (11.664 grams), setting the new price of the precious metal at Tk 1,12,907 a bhari, according to a Bangladesh Jewellers Association press release.
The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of the BAJUS made the decision.
Earlier on January 18, BAJUS decreased the price of 22-carat gold to Tk 1,10,691 a bhari after increasing it to Tk 1,12,441 a bhari the previous day.
The price of 21-carat gold has been increased to Tk 1,07,775 from Tk 1,05,675 a bhari and that of 18-carat gold decreased to Tk 88,879 from Tk 90,570 bhari.
The new prices will be effective today.
