Chittagong (Channel TT): Passenger train movement was stopped on March 24 to control coronary virus infection. From that day to Wednesday (April 1), the railway east has been deprived of the revenue of Tk. Two Cror 8 Lac's.

According to sources in the commercial division of the railway, the average daily income of Tk 26 lac was collected from the Chittagong railway station, inter-city, local and mail trains. But due to the corona virus, the railway is being deprived of income of Tk 26 lac every day as passenger trains are stopped from March 24.

Eastern Railway Divisional Commercial Officer Ansar Ali said that Chittagong would have earned an average of Tk. 25-26 lac. Railways are now deprived of income due to the shut down of the train. The government is also losing revenue.

The Ministry of Railways decided to stop the train movement from March 24 to April 4. Asked whether the train will operate from April 5, the Railway Director General said. Shamuzzaman said, depending on the situation. However, it is not yet decided whether the train will be operational from April 5.

Meanwhile, the passenger train is closed and freight train is still operating.
