Desk Report (Channel TT) The remnants of Tropical Storm Zeta will combine with a cold front to bring rain, wind and unseasonably cold weather to the Tri-State on Thursday and Friday.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo warned New Yorkers to expect “cold rain, wind and snow across much of the state.” He said travelers should be cautious on roadways and that state emergency response assets are prepared to help where needed.
New York City and the surrounding area could see another 6 inches of snow on Sunday after last week's major snowstorm. The last snow arrived Sunday morning and will continue throughout the day before tapering off to flurries late in the afternoon. The snowfall will be at its heaviest midday. The high is 33.
Rain that started moving into the region on Thursday morning will continue into midday Friday, according to AccuWeather. Most of the Tri-State, including NYC, could see 1 to 3 inches of rain, while up to 4 inches of rain is possible in South Jersey. Flooding is a risk on roadways and in areas of poor drainage.
Chilly rain, some of it heavy, will continue throughout the day Thursday. Temperatures will fall to near 50 during the day, while lows will be in the 40s Thursday night. Wind gusts could top 30 mph starting Thursday and continuing into Friday. The city Department of Buildings warned builders, contractors, crane operators and property owners to secure their construction sites, buildings and equipment.
It will be mostly cloudy by Friday afternoon. Temperatures will stay in the low 40s with RealFeels near 30. Saturday is sunny, brisk and chilly. The high will be 47. Sunday is breezy and milder with partly sunny skies. The high will be 58.
