160 Bangladeshis returned from Dubai

Dhaka (ChannelTT): 160 Bangladeshi expatriates stranded in Dubai due to coronavirus have returned home. They landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a special US-Bangladesh flight around 11am on Monday.

The flight took off from Dubai at 4 am local time with a total of 160 passengers, including a child, bound for Dhaka. This information was given in the press release sent by US-Bangla Airlines.

The statement said that US-Bangla Airlines has operated a special flight under the supervision of Bangladesh Air Force Welfare Trust to facilitate the repatriation of Bangladeshi nationals. The special flight was operated on the Dubai-Dhaka route with US-Bangladesh Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Every passenger from Dubai travels with a Corona Negative Certificate.

A large number of Bangladeshi expatriates have been stranded in various cities in the UAE for more than three months due to the coronavirus. They could not return to the country as the flight was canceled.
